HF-2
Jul 28, 2009 at 9:40 AM Post #601 of 1,149
I'm a bit irritated..... My order was placed at 21th May, and the payment was cleared by paypal right the instance. But the status is still not updated. And I have not a single clue of where it should be. More, since I'm from abroad, I have no proper way to call Todd....
Maybe I'll try international calling tonight......

So, it looks like they'll arrive by surprise. I'm O.K. with that.

Doesn't the original price include $30 or $40 going to the forum? It seems wrong to charge for that when the seller would most likely have no intention of donating that to the forum!

I can see people wanting to at least get their money back, but charging even /more/ doesn't seem right!

Actually, it was a $40.00 donation to head-fI when the headphones said "Head-FI" but ,after the unhappiness with the "Head-F1", JG added $10 additional dollars making it a total of $50 to head-fi for each head-fone sold. I don't understand how you have a gripe with that concept considering these were conceived and made for the head-fi community. I'm very happy with the fact that head-fi.org is getting the donation and we are getting a Limited Edition Grado headphone unlike any other headphone made by the company.

You say you don't like the idea of a donation to head-fi and I wonder why you feel this way? Do you feel entitled to get things for nothing-Do you not enjoy and learn from the head-fi.org website-Do you enjoy the human drama that unfolds daily on this website? Just wondering and don't take it the wrong way, please.

Also, on your point about charging more for the phones:
I subscribe to the thought that if one is challenged in finding a product and there is limited supply of said product this demands a higher price.

That's my 2 cents.

I'm in the same situation and have not received any confirmation yet. Todd did say that mine is probably going to be shipped on the 7th though.

I hope this doesn't happen to me, considering I'm going to be transitioning between two different addresses by the time my pair will ship.

However, Grado ran out of headbands this week so shipments will be delayed...

That's just great! How does a headphone mfr run out of headbands? Purchasing agent on vacation?

I heard nothing, just happened to notice that I was charged. They turned up 2 days later, unannounced. Couple of minor nicks and dings on the cups though
