The "F1" is a sloppy oversight. However, I don't give a rip about a tiny machining mark or any of that trivial stuff. If you're pulling hairs over it, get a piece of 0000 steel wool and fix it yourself.

Not exactly shying away, but waiting to see how they address this glitch and how it all unfolds. On second thought, maybe that is shying away.

I wouldn't really care whether it said Fi or F1, but I wouldn't want to pay full price for one with the error. Call it "anal retentive" if you want -- more like a holdover from my copy editor days, probably -- but I just have a hard time buying something for full price that is in some way defective, however cosmetic or minor. To my way of thinking, that's a "B-stock."

I ordered my HF2 weeks ago and stayed away from HF2 threads like a good boy...but what errors are you talking about? Is it just the F1 issue or are there more???

I don't think people should panic, and Todd and John will be glad to help those with errors. But I would NEVER say a mistake is ok. Because if one is ok than so is another, and so on. We want improvement don't we?

I am going to get flamed but so be it. A while back there was a similar thread on "Friday Grados" specially w/ the over application of glue. Now it seems there was an error/oversight w/ the laser engraving of the 1 instead of an I. Well, errors happen and I am sure that it will be addressed by Todd/Grado as the business persons they are.

What I wonder is how many here would tolerate the same finish (or lack thereof) if they were buying a new watch, car, diamond ring, etc. My point is that some have posted making light of those complaining of the poor finish and IMO although we can not expect perfection what has been shown is far from being perfect and should be corrected. Luckily both Grado and Todd are professionals and I am positive they will address the issues.

So lets relax and wait till everyone is back from the long holiday weekend.

Good luck, and yes I ordered a pair on 5/30.

Grado should take a page from furniture manufacturers:

"Please note that the product you have just bought is hand made with natural materials. The occasional imperfection in the finish is not a flaw, but a sign of the unique beauty of your particular piece."

If I could get one I would be happy. Personally I think the Head-F1 error is just awesome. I would love to have them as I love to spell stuff with numbers.

Agreed, I also think F1 instead of FI is really pretty cool. I wouldn't mind one myself.
