I may be able to get $300-$400 for a new pair of headphones; I'm wondering which should I get? I'm going to be gaming and listening to classical music and jazz (mostly classical). I listen to orchestral pieces and concertos. Also, I need headphones that can use the audio jack and mic jack, because I bought a Sound Blaster and I want to make use of it. Any recommendations?

Are you asking for headphones or a gaming headset? Good headphones in the $300-$400 range are the Beyerdynamic DT880s, Sennheiser HD600/650, the HiFiMan HE400s. You can get most of them within or below your price point used. I am not to well versed on gaming headsets, and am not sure that they will also have good sounding audio. Another factor to be considered is if you want an amp because all those headphones benefit from having an external amplifier.

The ATH-AD series are well known for being great for gaming. Get the AD900x, and they will also be very nice for jazz and classical. Then pick up a separate mic. I was asking for a headphone that could be used for gaming and music. Sorry if it was vague.

Thanks! Yeah I'm thinking about the Sennheisers, because I'm not a hardcore gamer (not as hardcore as I used to be); still I'm considering the AD900X, because there are a couple of games coming out.

Besides the 900X you may want to consider the HD598. They have good positioning and classical/orchestra sounds sublime with them.
