Hey guys, my brother is in the market for a pair of headphones in the $100 range.
 
- They'll be used at home but also on the subway and noisy environments so they should offer good isolation.
 
- The more portable-friendly, the better
 
- Listen to rock and a mix of other stuff - Classic Rock, some jazz, hip hop, etc, so a fairly neutral sound would be ideal
 
I've been out of the loop for a little while, and being a more IEM guy myself, I thought I would start a thread. Thanks guys!

Sennheiser HD 280's....Nuff said...great quality, and probably the best for noise isolation( aside from battery powered ones) Also they are pretty comfy if you dont have a big head.

Sennheiser HD280s and Audiotechnica AT HM50s. Both are collapsable and tough with good isolation and decent sound for <$100
