Reducing the width to match the Nano would require moving the power switch to the side or back of the amp. I think this is worse than having 1/8" extra width on each side, which will be rounded sides anyway.

I also tested it with Etymotic ER-4S, Shure E3, Klipsch Image X10, and Westone 3. A prototype was tested by someone else who had Etymotic ER-4P and Livewires. I'm sure more testing will be done this summer. We'll see what IEMs are shown at CanJam

This looks like the perfect match for my ipod 160gb and IE8s.
Currently, I'm using the D10 and ipod stuck together with velcro and LOD combined and i'ts a bit of a brick.
This would make it more portable for me and hopefully get less questionable looks from complete strangers on the MTR thinking im holding a bomb :)

Justin,

Just wondering, are there any plans on a slim Pico DAC with optical, coaxial and USB input?

lol

Why would you need a DAC that small...and I doubt there would be any space remaining on a rear or front plate for all 3 digital inputs.

Well a slim amp/dac with optical in would be nice with an iRiver H-1xx or pcdp with optical out but no some of those plugs alone are thicker than the thickness of the new Slim

Also, the Pico Slim could be the first portable amp where features can be added in the future through USB. < that line has me extremely curious

Here are some ideas. These are all things that could be added later. Right now, the priority is just getting the Pico Slim finished.

- Left/right balance adjustment. I have seen several people ask about this recently. It could be adjusted through the USB port.

- Change the volume control. You probably don't want to do this, since the Pico Slim already has 255 steps, 0.5dB between each one, and 110dB attenuation and nothing comes close to that kind of precision adjustment. But if you wanted to, you could change it so it only has 23 steps, and set it up so that it emulates a DACT Stepped Attenuator exactly. Or maybe you find even though the Pico Slim has so much adjustment, you still only ever use the area between 10-12 o'clock. Well you could customize it so that 10-12 o'clock becomes the entire 300 degree rotation of the volume control.

- Scare your friends by making the volume go full blast 1 minute after power on. Not recommended.

- Count the number of times the battery has been charged

How about a programmable Boost(s) like i prefer a 40-50hz boost instead of the common 80hz and have the value of dB to boost be variable like 1,3,6,9,12 dB... And then a 2nd boost for 15kHz since my portable player's EQ isn't able to adjust that frequency band
