I'm not an expert when it comes to headphones, but I do know for a fact that for $5,000 you can get yourself a very nice pair of stereo speakers.

There are of course speakers costing more than what an average house will cost, but I'm not sure how "good" those esoteric speakers really are.


And a pair of Nautilus 801's is more than what most people will ever need for a lifetime of music enjoyment. And that's what I'm saving up for.



As to $5,000 for a pair of headphones, if you have the cash, then go for it.

Is the $5000 price tag for the headphones only and doesn't include the matching Senn amp? IIRC, the Big O setup used to sell for over $15k.
