Please enlighten me with your wisdom dear head-fier's.

Finally i got my self a HD650 (HD-XXX massdrop edition). Slightly used but almost brand new condition. I am currently powering it with HP 14-B031TU sleekbook with IDT Onboard sound + 6N3 Matisse Clone preamp + Lepy CLASS-D amplifier with 3A 12V power supply. Also i use it directly with notebook headphone out. It still sounds out of this world but i know that HD650 deserves better. I have gone through so many head-fi threads and other discussions about how to power the HD650 properly. Some choices are too expensive for me but i picked up few which i found on ebay. I arranged them according to my budget and interest.

1.) Bravo Audio Ocean
2.) FiiO E10K (Dac & Amp)
3.) Objective 2 and O2
4.) Magni & Modi
5.) Cmoy (can this work?)
6.) Darkvoice
7.) Little dot MK II
8.) Little Dot MK1

What else can be there...? Above are the ones i picked and i don't know if they are good choices. I prefer if i could go for the #1 choice but it has to do some justice to the HD650 otherwise it will not be of use. Dac really doesn't matter because i can always buy one later i just put them up since there are combos available.

I like warm, dark, laid back bassy sound. I also love the tube sound and i often listen to Jazz, musical stuff like kenny burrell, opera like pavarotti, Vocal based stuff, etc. Rock and metal also in my list.

Any suggestions....? Let me know what you use for HD650.

Look at the Schiit Asgard 2. It has a really laid back sound that seems to be what you are looking for. I compared it to a bunch of amps and I preferred the Asgard to them all. I have and have had a bunch of high end gear and it's still one of my favorite amps. They are a good value new from Schiit.... They are a steal used.

The Magni is a great little amp but on the brighter side.

I looked at the ASGARD 2 and you are right, it is what i am looking for. It's little on the expensive side of 249US$ which is lot turned in to my currency but i guess it is still worth saving up until i'd be able to buy it. Thank you for the recommendation.

Where are you located? Is used an option? I have not tried them personally but your list has some good options. The Darkvoice is very well regarded but should be about the same price as an Asgard 2. I also tried the HD660 with a Fiio Q1 mrk 2. That was a very good combo.

What do you think about this combination

Tube preamp + Objective 2 = HD650

(When it is necessary to get lush warm tubey sound because everyone say Objective 2 is dry)
