Since there was some speculation as to where the 580's were manufactured, and since i just received mine, I can safely say there are still made in ireland or at least stamped that way.

I dont think Senn is even making them anymore.
All the retailers seem to be getting rid of whatever stock of HD580s they have left.
The HD580s sold on Senn USA's site is also on clearance @ 190$.

I'm glad i'm getting a great classic phone that is becoming discontinued soon, if not already.

Cool. And I notice that they have the 2003 DT880 for $149.99 with free shipping!!!! Same price as a couple here in the for sale section.

Sennheiser has been threatening to fully discontinue the HD580s for 8 years......looks like they might be getting around to it (probably because the 600s are so similar yet cost more).

I was convinced out of getting the HD580 for the '03 DT880 instead...I know I'm gonna regret this but hey, new headphones are always fun right?

That's right.....even this really uncomfortable 325is I got. Either I'm going to break the Grados in, or they're going to break me in

Hey, if you wait long enough.....Sennheiser will introduce the HD700, so that will drive the HD600 down to $130
