Don't forget to use the head-fi link if you're shopping at Amazon.com.

Check my sig and you'll see I have the 580/595/650s!!!! All great cans and are keepers for certain genres. The 650s are different in sound to the 580s, so I think it's worth it to try both. The 580s certainly are a GREAT value now! They used to be Sennheiser's flagship can, so you know it's going to be well refined. Main difference between the 580/650 is emphasis in mids. The 580s can seem brighter to some because it has a slight emphasis in mids. The 650s have a smoother mid section, and really great bass/treble extension for trip hop. They're keeping a good build quality with the new batch of cans being made in China (unlike some other headphone companies).

I'm not sure if the 580s are being manufactured anymore (what Amazon could be selling are all the left overs). But I would think if they are being made, it would be Ireland. My old 580s were made there, and my new 650s were made there. So it would seem that it would be easier to keep manufacturing of the 600 series there. All newer models are being made in China.....my 595s have the made in China stamp. But they are well made....build quality seems much better then certain other headphones (not to name any names!).

congrats on the 580! Just a word of caution about the PA2V2.....I've heard some people complain that that one can be too warm for the 580. Again, don't have first hand knowledge, so I don't know how true it is.

Ive heard it's great with the GoVibe 5.

Ive always wanted to get a pair of HD580s after reading all the hype and that they use the same drivers as the HD600s. On top of that I already have a new HD650 cable sitting next to me that I would like to use on it.

Can't wait!

Man I love this place... my wallet knows better then to come around here. But I have the flu right now, and I just ordered the 580's, overnighted for $3.99 (I'm a proud Amazon Prime member). So that makes me feel a little bit better.

The hd650's are the most marvelous headphone I've ever heard (IMO). It will be cool to see their sound signatures compare with my setup.

Do we pay sales tax buying from amazon/ its merchants?

The last time I bought from them was a couple of years ago. I forgot. Besides, their help page is not very helpful.
