this is a monitor earphone but I actually listen to pop music more. I bought this for replacing IE7 and try some original sound. is there any recommendation about which upgrade cable I could use to improve pop music feeling...

Im not sure if recabling them would make a big difference. Whats your source? do you want more bass?

Mac book air + u2( it's a taiwan amp, around $500, not portable)
and I use sony M10 when I am outside. I will add an portable amp in the future, or change source to ipc and add an amp.
i don't want more bass, just more pop music feeling. I prefer vocal, if treble can be improved, that will be perfect.

Have you tried using equalizer software? or maybe a different music format..
some guys use the HD600's cable, but i cant notice a huge difference with it, to my ears.

Actually I never use equalizer， it will cause distortion sometimes. I use wav format.
I will play it for a week and see if I am satisfied with sound
