I've had my HD580s for years now and looking for an upgrade for Christmas.
 
I want an alternative that matches these for quality and detail, bass extension, BUT closed back.!
 
 
I listen to mainly EDM, and lots of trippy ambient music with lots of detail.
 
I listen to music normally very late whilst "relaxed" and love detail ! and beat.
 
Was looking at the DT770  ./
 what do you guys recomend

uhh.... im not sure, i havn't heard the HD580 before and only have brief impressions of the DT770 at the shop. not sure if it will be a sidegrade 
but i do think that the DT770 does well in electronic tracks from what i listened at the shop
