The best sound I can get is using a modded Singxer SU-1> I2S > X22.
Can you tell me more the the mod part? what to do?

Right now i'm thorn between X-22 and that new shiny L.K.S. Audio MH-DA004 not sure if its worth $350 price jump.

Has anyone posted anywhere comparing the sound of the x22 with the lks? I am very curious if the x22 is as good. I have not found detailed reviews which compare the x22 to other high quality dacs. I have been very happy with the Gustard x20 pro. Not sure if an upgrade to the lks or the x22 would be significant.

Does the X-22 need SU-1 to get its best like X-20?..
It use exactly the same USB card so can expect any better.

Another question. What master clock setting do I use for asynchronous timing? I read the manual but didn't understand as the English is a little spotty.
My music files come from an Intel Nuc mini-pc that surly isnt asynchronous to my X22 to a Parasound P5 preamp.
Should I choose "normal" to get asynchronous timing to my preamp?
Sorry, if that's a silly question but I'm pretty new to this stuff:)
Thanks

Your preamp has nothing to do with clock in your DAC :)
Setting is for internal clock. You should hear difference between settings. One is definitely better. AUTO probably
