Hmmm sand is a bit excessive and extreme. Not to mention the likelihood of getting beach sand into the parts of the R26. Why not add some 'Shakti Stones' in between the gaps..lol. But in all seriousness, why not just disassemble the dac and put in into a modded/dampened case lined with lead sheets.

I like to use my Ferrum Oor/Hypsos in Bypass mode (power amp), so when I use my R26 I can't select NOS or DSD Direct without the sound output being Fixed at basically ear-raping levels... Is it time to get a Pre-amp or anybody got a suggestion? I do have a Holo Red on the way, but I'm unsure that'll change anything volume related.

Anyone else had issues communicating with Gustard support? Emailed them over a week ago with questions about getting rid of the "clicking noises", sent a follow-up email couple days later and still no response.

Went outside my comfort zone and tried the firmware update. Everything went off with no glitch. Followed instructions, received confirmation at the end. Turned on and firmware is 06 2022. Tried three more times with same results to only have same results. I am only thankful thr dac still works so I am done trying any more. If it ain’t broke don’t F with it!

In the Roon + Tidal version, the memory consumption reaches 95% when playing Tidal. It's true that everything works, but if someone has Roon, why do they need Tidal connect. So I disabled Roon support and the memory usage is around 60%. I wrote about it in earlier posts.
If you care about Tidal and Roon here's the link. This version is official firmware 1.4 + Tidal connect without the latest updates. I wrote about it HERE.

Can you add tidal connect to new 1.42 fw?

Hello
I'm using a win. 10 NUC 8i5 w HQP desktop. USB Is working and sounds v. good. Haven't been able to setup NAA connection yet. In windows Settings > Network> Ethernet> network connections > Windows Network Diagnostics... I'm getting a (doesn't have a valid IP configuration) message.
Can someone please help with this?
Many thanks for any help, I'm not the most tech savvy.

· HQplayer NAA 升级至4.4.0-56。 Upgrade HQplayer NAA to [4.4.0-56].
· 针对UPnP的24bit/96Khz的修复,此版本UPnP不包含DSD支持。如需UPnP下的DSD支持,请使用之前版本。Fix for UPnP 24bit/96Khz, this version of UPnP does not include DSD support. For DSD support in UPnP, please use the previous version.

** I put in bold this little warning - so if you are a DSD user, may want to hold off on this

Thanks to everyone on this thread for some great advice. Threads like this one is exactly why I love Head-Fi.

I received my R26 I guess about a month ago and have been taking my time getting through this epic thread.

Just installed my FMC earlier in the week. On both the dirty end and the clean end I have a monoprice slim line cat 6, 6” on the clean end. Should I be using a shielded cat 8 on the clean side? I don’t have a short cat 8 to test, but could order one for a few dollars if that is the way to go.
