Tidal Connect = meaning you can just plug a LAN cable in at it will connect to your Tidal profile. Then you can stream directly and use the the remote or app.

I don't think this streamer does tidal connect. Wich software do you use ?

What I am trying to explain is a out of the box experience. R26 = is not

I have to tie a 3rd party solution to "stream" Tidal. Or some type of DLNA.

I would have like just to play directly/connect from Tidal servers as the usual streamer does less than 100dollars

I expected that there would be a 0 setting to switch of the display all together and only light it up if a change occur. I can hear a faint buzz from it, though.

Are there other users of the R26 and the OCK-1 who get a better sound while streaming directly to the R26 rather than passing through the I2S output of a DI?

I have a OCK-1, and I'm considering buying the R26.
I have an Audio-GD DI-20HE, and I'm looking for a way to adapt a HDMI cable to use this digital interface with the R26.

Hi, I have the same issue with my I2S pcie bridge. Wouldn’t properly connect to the R26. After much trial and error I determined you must short pin 15 with ground to make it work. That means making a custom cable. I asked Gustard if they can fix this with a firmware update, and they said they would not do that. Hope this helps.

I asked Gustard if they can fix the pcm/dsd i2s pin 15 pin issue for some of us with firmware…and they said no. I had to find out on my own to short pin 15 with ground to fix the pin 15 issue instead of them telling me when I asked them. Gustard does reply fairly quickly to emails, but they haven’t been very helpful…at least in my cases. Maybe they’ll get better at customer service hopefully.

I’m not experienced enough yet to make you a cable. I’m going to ask Tubulus if they can make a custom cable shorting pin 15. I know they can do custom connector orientation. You might also ask Blue Jean cables. I might try to make myself an I2S using some Neotech 22 gauge airlock from VHAudio using the double helix configuration, but that will take some experimentation.

Maybe it's simpler to put the bridge inside one device, instead of making a separate cable?

If you do short pin 15, make sure it makes a closed loop coming out of the dac instead of the streamer. In other words, if the shorted cable doesn’t work switch it around. Put the connector that was in the streamer into the dac, or vise versa. One way will work and the other way will not.
