Yes, will need to apply 1v3 update if you will not like 1v4. Update always rewrites whole SD card (used part/partition of it to be exact).

Hello,
Has anyone tried whether Airplay is working on R26 (there is an Airplay sticker but does it work ?).
This is of course not how I want to do audiophile listening, but Airplay is still very convenient for casual use.

I have searched this thread about Airplay, but found nothing.

I again tried the method using Balena Etcher and still no luck. Both image updaters just cannot see the firmware drive

What is the downside to not being able to update the flash drive firmware? Will I eventually not be able to use this DAC as the connections will not work? USB? Already Roon won't connect. Other ports?

Do I need to return this unit or will it function with the old firmware for a long time?

Any insights would be very helpful...

Done, no issues so far. Had to change the usbc cable as the one I initially tried wouldn’t see the drive…

Being new here, I am unable to help you myself unfortunately.
But, as I was searching/reading global info about R26, I saw a lot of discussions about upgrade issues in the range of pages 220-240 of this thread. I guess you have already been looking there.

In my system, Roon and Audirvana sound the same in Bit-Perfect mode.
While upsampling, Audirvana sounds a bit better, but Roon sounds good as well.

For some reason there is no upsample option over upnp in audivarna for me. And there seems to be some weird reverb on voices and instruments compared to roon. Any idea why?
