GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge

Just tried NOS for the first time and wow. Soundstage really opened up and I just fell into the music. Not sure why the change but I like it. Anyone else a NOS fan. As a side note I could barely hear a difference between the 3 filters with OS on the R26. Don't get me wrong I think the R26 sounds amazing using both OS and NOS but wow, NOS took it beyond where I have heard my system before.

In everyone's opinion, how many hours should I allow for the R26 to be broken in enough to feel like it sound like it's going to sound even though it might get a little better over many more hours? I thought I read in this thread that about 200 hours does it. Thoughts?

As little as 50 hours from some of us but I would say 150 to 200 hours is average. With some outliers saying as much as 500 hours. All depends on operating environment and the ability to hear the sound changes over time.

I heard the biggest change at around 150 hours (or day 6 of playing 24/7). The previous day, day 5, my listening session had me wanting for way more bass, and the sound stage was just sort of flat while seemingly having some level of holographic depth and separation). Too much sound was noticeable from the speakers, which is not something I'm used to. But the next day, I seemed to get twice as much bass (read "a lot more," than bass output actually doubling), and my speakers seemed to disappear like normal. The sound stage was more narrow, deeper, and had better sense of dimension.

I'm at 192 hours as of today. And I'm starting to wonder if this is mostly it or not.

200 hours for R2R ladder, but low jitter clocks require 500 hours. During this time you may notice regression, less likely after.

I will give NOS another chance. To my ears off is more live like a bit more raw, on is more polite and rounded. Very minute difference though. Same with the filters, very little difference.

11-15 is the latest, and 1v4 gustarender firmware.
Ok problem solved the wifi extender replaces my routers wifi and all upnp goodness works now. So i might go the audivarna route if i get to fix the sound. How much oversampling can the gustard handle and is it worth it over bit perfect? Otherwise i might go the mcconnect route. Which is awesome to have this problem solved after the 3rd streamer not beeing found.

For some reason there is no upsample option over upnp in audivarna for me. And there seems to be some weird reverb on voices and instruments compared to roon. Any idea why?

Set Audirvana to DSD512 upsampling or to customized PCM upsamplig with all the 44.1 based frequencies to 705.6, and the 48 based frequencies to 768.

You posted a setting for DSD512 upsampling.
Stream with it to your R26.

Later, I will post for you the setting for the PCM upsamling.

Is anybody testing new renderer firmware with integrated Tidal connect that Gustard offered?

I thought i was supposed to set it to dsd 512?

Seems like its making my 2012 minis cpu work hard
Your Mac lacks the horsepower to upsamlple to DSD512.
These are the settings for PCM.
