I have an SU-6. Although it is a solid performer and has the ability to change its I2S thru pin configuration, it doesn't have a clock input. Of which you would like to add in the near future. However it's internal femto clock is top-notch. A Crystek CCH-957. And according to ASR it's the best measuring DDC reviewed so far.

IDK about its clock output though. As I understood that is what you're after.

Pushing again my previous suggestion for the Gustard U18+C18 combo for compatibility.

I agree wholeheartedly, also use the SU-6 I2s to R26, pins 3 and 7 ON for it, some consider it the best DDC under 4 digit figures price tag

you have no issues despite it being 75ohm output and the r26 being 50 ohm input?

No issues whatsoever, pristine sound and behaviour....talking about I2S here though. I have a friend using it with BNC to Dave, very satisfied

If you're going to use I2S as connection, you don't need the external mclck/wclk output. I2S sends that data to one of its pins (pin 5 and 6).

Nope, only 3 and 7 on for Gustard

ah, I understand now. the clk is mainly for USB. If I'm planning to use I2S, I bypass the need for the external clock. correct?

Wouldn't pairing the R26 with the U18 be enough? Why do I need the C18 also? You're more than doubling the cost of the R26 at that point...

So if Pin 5 and 6 are off. Meaning it's MCLK and 22.5792M/24.576M freq respectively.
yup, most dacs use MCLK with Singxer, Holo, PSaudio etc Very nice to have configurable switches so one can try the SU-6 with more i2s dacs (although too few use i2s unfortunately)

Seems to be ready and available the usb firmware update for mqa full decoding on Gustard site. But update instructions are not clear. In that case we need to connect the USB type B or type C? The device on or off (standby mode)?

Was able to cancel my Di-20he order prior to shipping. Now to decide between SU-6 or U18 DDC paired with C16 or LHY-OCK-1 clock. Oddly, aoshida said they couldn’t guarantee the U18 would work with the R26 despite it being a Gustard ddc. I’d have assumed they’d play well being gustard products.
