The weapon design is a bit bland IMO, but the design on the mech themselves are awesome. [*] are some of my favourite-looking ones.

Hmm maybe I assumed wrongly that resin kits are expensive. Found this http://www.gkgundamkit.com/index__en.html and from the looks of it, most cost a little bit more expensive than what most gunpla kits cost.

Found a Ksyatria kit... US$177... a bit too high for now.

Yeah they're expensive, but a lot more fun, if you're experienced. I recently visited a hobby model shop at my place, and was really impressed by the craftsmanship.
They suggested I lay off resin kits unless I've painted a few Gundams, which I bought the paint for. So soon enough...lets see.
 
The price difference IMO is because one of them is finished, the parts are already ready.
 
Some of the prices are alright, $50-60 for a 1/100.

Thats a nice collection.
You should try out some MG models, they're much better built.
