Great news for rooted android users--Viper4Android

Sorry, wish I could be of more help. Custom ROM with it baked in should do the trick. What exactly is going wrong, drivers not installing correctly?

Did you try going into your settings-sound? I forget exactly where it is, but there is a setting in sounds for changing equalizer or something regarding the sound. I have my girls old note 3, going to check that.

Try this:

Let me know if you need help running the script.

Yep, the drivers just refuse to install. I have no idea what's wrong with it.

Thanks for the link to the script. I've tried running that script before but it didn't do it for me. I'll give it another try with the init.d script. Thanks again!

One more, works with selinux enforcing:

I know it's a nexus 5 thread, but it may not matter.

This link is for S5, it also has what I was trying to remember earlier for your sound settings:

If that doesn't work, going back to the S5 thread, which drivers did you try to install? IIRC, I've read that super quality may gave additional problems, perhaps try installing the other drivers.

Man I miss the days I had my G3 rooted with Viper4Android, the Convolver feature alone was amazing. I now have a Note 5 which has a great Wolfson DAC and audio processing but still miss the V4A and the root (dang AT&T and their unrootable variants).

It should be fairly easy. Using your file Explorer it's in root directory, system>etc. Definitely make a backup before playing around

Nothing named mixer path.xml in my system>etc directory. I used root browser to search, and it can't find anything named that. Maybe it's because my phone is intel powered, I don't know.
