Grados...

OK I feel somewhat lucky, I managed to grab the GRADO RS-1  brand new for £55!  That is half the price of the 60i's here in the UK!  I may not keep them and give them as a present to someone or it could be a really good investment....

You are a very lucky individual, apparently...

May I ask how you scored the RS1 at that price?  Or the 225?

They were on Amazon yesterday but sold out instantly and then I tried again today and said they only had 1 left so I grabbed them quickly!  I cant believe the price myself but it looks like they are trying to get rid of grado stuff cheaply!  :)

Curious if you actually received the RS1 for 55 pounds.  Incredible deal, but based on the going prices of Grado in the UK, it must have been a mistake.  Hopefully, whomever you purchased it for that price honors it. Mistakes like this usually ends with the cancellation of the sale from the merchant on Amazon.

I dont know if they can cancel it, it was the same dealer I got the 225's from and they never cancelled it even though they do retail for over a hundred pounds more.  I logged into my account and the headphone is already at 'dispatching soon' status.  Its looks like this dealer is having a massive clearance sale.
BTW, i saw ur headphone inventory....AMAZING!  Can;t believe u have so many....

i think they may be cheaper cos they dont have the 'i' at the end of it...

Ok i have drawn 2 conclusions from this:
1) the site made a price mistake and may withdraw
2) They are fake headphones :frowning2:

I think they made a mistake.

I have the rs1's now !  But the thing is I find the soundstage somewhat lacking...I prefer the sr225i's in that area.  I dont know what it is but I am finding it hard to adjust to these...does anyone know if the Rs1's need time to burn in?  Cos right now I find the sr225's sound better....the rs1's have a nice warm sound in vocals though which are more upfront and instruments and not as pronounced as the sr225's.

I ordered SR225i two days ago from HeadRoom. I can't wait to listen to them. They are my very first Grado cans. This is the first time I'm hearing that RS1 are not as much fun to listen to as SR225.

Yea the sr225 are a great buy!  They sound much more exciting than the RS1's and the soundstage is bigger.  The only thing I like about the RS1's is that vocals are smoother and the highs are not so harsh.  What headphones u currently use?  I have only just got into the Grado sound and love it!  The open back design is classic

I agree that the 225s are more exciting, but not on the soundstage, but that's my impression. I love the 225s, but I find them fatiguing after extended periods. The RS1s for 55 pounds is incredible. It would have been tempting to resell them for a profit.
Anyway, have fun deciding, you can't go wrong.

That's an insane deal for the RS-1, I'd definitely keep them. From hearing almost all of the current Grado line, the RS-1/i has the most "magic" to the sound whereas the 225 is the safe middle ground while keeping all of the excitement intact. Then there are specialist models like the ultra-aggressive SR325is and the relatively bassy HF2.
