Grado SR80i vs SR60i ? Does it really matters ?

You can't go wrong with either. Both offer a nice taste of high quality audio reproduction and represent fantastic values at under $100.

I think this gets it right.

For whatever it's worth, Tyll from InnerFidelity has suggested that the SR 60's might not benefit as much from a headphone amp as the SR 80s. Which is to say, you might not be able to get much more performance out of the 60s with dedicated amplification whereas you could upgrade the already great sounding 80s with dedicated amplification.

Now that I've said all that, I'd recommend people who can budget a little more to start with the SR 225e. In my opinion, that's a noticeable step up from the SR 60/80/125 trio and it gets you pretty close to the performance of the higher end Grado lines.

In my opinion, considering that the price difference between the GS1000e, an the next model, the PS1000, is about $700-$800, makes this one, a no brainer.

Unless of course, you're on a tight budget.
