guys, quick question. does the price of the HF-1 include the shipping? or is it extra? and also, does Todd accept orders on a Sunday?

it doesn't include shipping, and todd accepts the orders via his webpage if you order a sr225 and say HF-1 and your head-fi name via the comment box. but don't call him today, he's out

heres what I did; went to TTVJ's site and ordered the 225's, created an account, selected my shipping options, got the total amount. and now, there's an Order Box(comment box?), thats where I should write that I want an HF-1 with my HEAD-FI SN instead of the 225's?

Well, I bit the bullet too. Wanted to buy an SR-225 for the longest time, since I love my SR-60s for rock/metal/punk. Hopefully, the "less shrill" (my words) character of the HF-1 will not mean a loss of details...

Any views on whether the HF-1 will benefit greatly from amplification? I am leaning towards buying a Corda HA-2 (which I want to get with a Beyer DT-880 for classical music listening), should I speed up the buying decision for the HF-1?

I'd be shocked if it was a mini, and even more shocked if it was terminated with balanced XLRs, so I think it's a safe bet

from what i understand they are basically the sr225 with some wood parts in certain places...i'm assuming the same 225 drivers as well as the same cable, extension cable, and other goodies that usually come with the sr225.

Well, that means if I end up getting some (not likely as the folks didn't sound too thrilled about the idea of $200 headphones as an early birthday present) I should also order a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. Sure, I could go for the basic $3 radioshack thing, but it would be SO much sexier to have a Grado brand one...
