Grado Flat Pads... Not worth the $$$?

Do the authentic flat pads have a hole in them? Are you modifying them yourselves?

Any opinions on the Senn pads without vs. with the quarter (or other) mod?

Yes, they already have the opening and the slits in them. No need to modify them.

Taking a dead thread from the grave...

my SR225i is my only  pair of full sized cans. for most of my songs in my library I find their sound amazing, but for some treble is really fatiguing, very hard to listen.

The thing is: the shipping cost of the flats to my country is arround $23. So I would be paying arround $58 for the flats. Does the sound improve that much this aspect?  Is it like night and day? would they be worth this much?

Are the mids affected some how? I really love the midrange on my grados, and I doubt I would like it to change at all.
