Thanks for sharing this stacker45, it feels good to know I'm not alone.  I have a question for you though : 34, yes, 34 pairs of shoes = is your wife's given name Imelda ?

I can honestly say, I feel there is no need to "mod" the sound of Grado HP's with the exception of changing the cushions.

Agreed, the G-cush on the MS2i is such an upgrade in sound!

I have a bit of a concern regarding Grado reverting back to black drivers. Is it definitely not the case they have gone back to the old 'i' series ones using old stock. If not why did they change the colour? The red looked better.

I'm just so pleased with my red driver 80e, much more so than my old 80i. I'm worried if I was to 'upgrade' to a 125e or 325e they might in reality be 125i or 325iSs and not actually be better.

any thoughts? Am I stupid for thinking this way.

There was a post someway back in this thread which explained the change in driver colour. They're still the same e driver just a different colour.

Definitely worth a try, plus it is more comfortable for longer listening sessions.

Are you saying they went back to black drivers? Or are you saying you think they might in the future? I just got the 325e and today got the RS2e and both have RED drivers.

A few months ago, I contacted Grado about this, and they told me that they temporarily painted the e drivers red, so that they could easily differenciate them, from the remaining i drivers.

FYI, the PS1000e that used to have, had red drivers, and so do my SR80e, and GH-1.

A few days ago, I wrote a post about the confusion that Grado is creating for their customers, with these kinds of things.

Oh! and, Mercuttio, if you've read the last few posts, do you still think that, ''there's no confusion at all'', among Grado's customers.

Interesting... I mean these came out in early 2014 right? I just got two brand new sealed Grados 325e and RS2e and both have RED colored drivers.

Just a quick comparison here... SR325e vs RS2e. The RS2e is basically a refined SR325e, as far as I can hear. The bass is a little tighter, and the treble a little smoother. They also, for some reason, play about 2 to 2.5dB lower than the SR325e when the volume is left untouched on my source (laptop). Are they worth the extra $200? Not for the average person, no... the 325e will get them 95% of the way there... but for people like us, yeah it probably is worth the extra $200.
