May not be your kind of music,
but I've found that the best, truest bass is on high quality
recordings of synthesiser and organ.
Especially the lowest tones (16 Hz) coming out of
the huge church organs of Europe built during the
1600's to the 1800's. We can't "hear" 16 Hz, but
we can feel it. And on some pieces, the performer
noodles around down there for a while on the pedals
and lower registers.
That is true bass.
