Have you tried the KZ AS10 with the KZ09 Bluetooth adapter? It has about 90 percent the sound quality of a Westone W40 at a dirt cheap price. I think you'll be super impressed if you have not. Also, the KZ Castor is about 85 percent the sound quality of the KZ AS10. Both sound great for anything from electronica to math-rock and have very good imaging and balanced sound. I have Genelec 1032 studio monitors and have perfect hearing up to 18,700 Hz and have a good reference for how recordings should sound.
I get where you are going with the price thing but Dweaver is talking about a whole different thing. Clips and KZ in-ears are apples and oranges. :green_apple::tangerine::)

With these tariffs coming, I decided to check around for one of the clearance XM5’s at Walmart for $113. Go lucky and found a store that had one left, in fact it’s the last one in the South Bay (SF). I was surprised when as its new and sealed in its box. 👍. Ready to ride out the tariffs, well as far as headphones go 😃

The XM5 are a solid choice and a bargain at $113.
Nice portable case, good sound and top tier ANC. For the price, you did extremely well.

Seeing as the Pearl Clip Pro is $40 on Amazon right now, I'll test them out and report back. Was tempted by the OpenDots One, but for $40 I'm sold on testing out the PCPro for a few days first.
Looking forward to your impressions! My brain wants me to buy the Opendot One or the Aeroclip just because they may be that little bit better... But if the Pearl is as good as some claim it would be the saner option especially given the inherent limitations of this form factor. My one concerns is they will be to floppy so won't work when I am doing a sport activity.

Ha! I think the Dunus are just awesome, so if you are happy, be happy! I got the L for the Dunu, and they fit well, but I got ML of the Eletech. I found they run a little big, and I read someone said they run a little small, so go figure.

I'm done testing tips, btw.

@TooFrank - did you see my cool Beoplay case? It turned out cooler than I even thought it would https://www.head-fi.org/threads/show-off-your-iems-buds-and-accessories.945980/post-18651002 (alas, the artist does not make a Rex 5 case)
Just got the eletech today. They are indeed very comfortable and the sound is great. Probably on par with the dunus. Your case is very nice but I do prefer the pure aluminium. Thanks for all your research and advice😊😊

my S23 Ultra finally updated to One UI 7, sadly as others already mentioned no APTx HD which is just dumb given there is ZERO licensing fees for HD.

I used my Earfun Pro 4 to test and saw and applied that update but didn't pay attention to what is does. Will have to take a peak.

Nothing new for my Galaxy Buds Pro 3 either. Was hoping some of the little UI options for that and SSC made it through to the S23 series like the Fold models.

I like of the changes but some are a pain... the search for an app is now 2 steps to do which I will maybe get used to but just find a bit more finicky.

Edit: this new Earfun update sound different to you @mikp ? I turned off the APTx and switched back to LDAP and it seems more detailed. But might just be the switch in codecs I am hearing. These really do an amazing job given their price.

If he's lucky maybe he's on the older firmware thats supposed to sound better.

Two things, are you sure this isn't a hardware limitation vs software? Plus, would APTx HD be significantly better than SSC? I have and use S23U and Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and end up using SSC. I don't have a TWS that have AptX HD codec, thus I would be able to compare if the phone had it as option.

Well, I'm happy with what I have but two more eartips were mentioned here, so Amazon is bringing them to me. Gotta love its return policy.

All I'm interested in is sound quality and having IEMs and headphones that remain true to the original recording. If you want something that bastardizes the audio quality then that's fine as well, but to each their own.
