AZ100 shipped today, arriving Tues. Shipped from Canada.

Listed the Denon Perl Pro, and if I keep the AZ100 I'll be selling another set of TWS. Want to keep it to three sets total lol

I'm so often using a bluetooth dongle and my good wired IEM. That's like 80% of my listening.
Where did you buy them? I’m from Canada and AZ100 are on my list.

Direct from the Technics website. If you sign up for their newsletter you get a 10% off discount code as well.

Right now, you would need to buy from US Technics and they would ship from the warehouse in Ontario/Fontana California. They don't look to be released yet (at least direct) from Technics up there. Amazon might be a different story north of the border.

ANC is perfectly fine on them. There's always a trade off with ANC. Noble uses a light touch. If strong ANC is important to you, the Rex isn't a good choice. They favor SQ over ANC and no you really can't have both. The Apollo is similar.
I don't think it's impossible to have both, that is, unless the music you listen to is composed entirely of low frequency train rumbling and HVAC noise.

I see you also got the Rex5. How bad is the ANC on those?

I read several comments on reddit saying its not good. Is it worse then the AZ80?

And how is the fit? Saw someone on here saying they have to "constantly readjust" them.

I'd like to give them a shot, but those two things are holding me back.
Honestly, the ANC is great. I’ve had no issues at all and actually think they are better than most people expect. I don’t have to constantly adjust them. Once you find the right tips, you’re golden. Hard to read into what others say and you’re better off just trying them. Everyone’s ears are different as you know.

Nice trio! I'm only missing the AZ100 for now. I've had the 80 in service for almost 2 months and I hope they'll give me a gift... I'm curious about your eartips. What do you use on the Rex5? Thanks!
Oddly enough, I’m using an old pair of large Devialet tips on my Rex5.

Thanks for the info.

I know it favors SQ over ANC but i wouldn't want to go back in time to "2019 level of ANC", especially for that price.
I spent 1200+ on my Geekfly L6 and absolutely love the audio performance and thats what I'm after. I have natural anc noise blocking with deep insertion stems, that are like normal IEMs that don't diminish sound quality and eat up battery with ANC activated. That's what I'm after, could careless about the marketing hype and constant tinkering with ANC earbuds. No thanks.

If i'm not happy, i can always return.

I understand your point of view but i want to be able to use my earbuds outside the home (on my way to work for example), so ANC is a must for me.

I have other gear for my home listening sessions.

Fair enough but if you're on this site, in this sub forum most I would think are looking for sound output to rein over everything else. Seal/tips and deep insertion is key. I can achieve noise blocking in my outdoor environments, be it city or working out at a gym. I always want to have a little of the externals sounds bleed in naturally to keep my awareness around me without distracting my listening sessions. Cutting down external noise environments in DBs to a very low level is all I want.

The AZ100 definitely look interesting but I really need to not rush buy them.

The AZLA Chrystal tips I bought are just a bit to big after a few days use. I should have bought the Medium Large as I think they are more closer to the size of the original JBL large tips. The material of these tips is stiffer so it needs to be a bit smaller. Otherwise they are nice tips. Also large is ever slightly to big for the case making the TWS lose contact in the case occasionally.

Switched back to the Sony tips today as a change up. I might buy ML but may try the AZLA ASMR tips if I do.

Edit: no ASMR for me just no good buying options in Canada. Might just go Crystal ML, still end up saving $10 as compared to buying a 3 pack of M ML L... even with the one size not being quite right. To bad though I really would like to try the ASMR, maybe I will look at Aliexpress...

QCC3091 processor w/ LDAC & aptX Adaptive...(if I figure out how to use) will A/B vs the Rex5 & the Alien Svanar.

Note to self: 1/31/25 looming....must make keep/return decisions.

Very nice design. Any word on the sound?
I am happy buyer

The bass region is very well represented, things are separate no harsh highs . One thing I noticed is that mids are very well represented and not sure if this is just a condition of the fit or that the tuning selected allowed for this. Not a reviewer, so is just an observation based on 8hrs of listening time including doing a walk around the neighborhood.

Fit is very good the clamping is just right and it's great not having OEM or TWS in my ear.

Not a headphone user as having my ears fully enclosed really bothers me , not sure if just the material, get or some OCD.

Someone else from work told me to try this format plus they don't break the bank.

Was not having high hopes as they sub $100 and thought would use for a bit and sell

Keeping these plus I bought the option with a Mic and several calls later phones and Microsoft Teams, feedback has been that it is very clear.
