I often listen to music for 6+ hrs at a time. I'm looking for buds that will last that long for hopefully a few years. Sadly, my favorite ex buds are down to 2.5 hrs, as are most of my other buds. New Status and Bose are still good. I'm looking at Soundpeats since I haven't tried them but they have a lot of buds. Any recommendations for them or other premium or good buds that last a long time? I kinda want the mw09 because I actually loved my mw07 and they still have decent life after over 2 yrs, but mw09 don't seem to be available.

Soundpeats Opera05 get me 2 days without charging the buds (either leave them idle or power them off via the touchpads) on LDAC @ 16/44.1 with some ANC/AMB but mainly OFF as the ANC is not that good.

They loose Prev Track due to ANC on left bud but their new App lets you config all this so hopefully they were port these across from the old basic App.

I literally compared these to the Triumph, aviot te zx1, xm5and az80. The anc beats all of them. It shuts out way more sound than even the xm5.

Sound wise, only the Triumph beats it from that list.

Try try sedna azla shorts with them. I'm super impressed with the set. Since I have all these sets and a/bed them quite a bit, I'm confident you can't beat them for 129. You can get a decent comparable product for twice that.

I know the hype train keeps rolling, but they did good with this set. It's kind of a throw away for them, but it's great. If only it had better codecs and call quality.
Did you own the Mystique/Fokus Pro/Prestige as well? If so, how did you like any of them for SQ compared to the H-ANC?

I gave these another listen yesterday and I stand by my prior impressions. Sound preferences are of course subjective, but I don't like them at all. I was reminded why I never used them to begin with. They sound flat, lifeless and congested to me. EQ made them worse. Busy rock passages are particularly bad. Compared to the Pi8 there simply is no comparison. Sure, it's not a fair fight at it's current price point but I would probably pick up any other TWS I own before the H-ANC. The ANC was better than I remembered so they have that going for them. They also are HUGE. In short, I'd spend my money elsewhere or just not spend my money at all.

again, other rhan PI8, what other TWS do you specifically prefer over these?

All of them. Edit - I won't be so snarky. I didn't enjoy them at all so I wouldn't use them period. But, I would use the Devialet, Bose, AKG, Triumph and Pi8 over them. Yes, they all cost more but for me personally, I don't think I'd buy the H-ANC right now at any price. Old tech. No codecs. Sound that I personally do not enjoy. Large size. I'd just look elsewhere and the fact that they are being blown out at $129 seems to support my argument that these are not compelling in 2024.

Not sure what ones you own? Can you list a few? Id like to look into some options to see if I can get my ears on them.
I am really enjoying the AKG N5 for a nice clean balanced sound. I am having a static issue that comes and goes but I'm not sure they are faulty. If you don't need ANC, the Triumph are my personal favorites for sound ATM.

The signature of the AKG really resonates with me. I don't use the dongle much, but on Bluetooth I like the sound a lot. I probably use those more than any other with the EX being next

These do a lot of things right for me.
Comfort - on par with Bose QC 2. Very stable, yet unintrusive. Listened to them on the way to work, at work, on the way back, no problems whatsoever. The winglets make them feel locked in place. So nice.
Wind - There is a special ANC mode called anti wind and it does work very well. I'm impressed.
Sound - Not really my all time favorite, but pretty good. I did EQ a bit, they react nicely. A bit more clarity would have been nice, but all in all a pleasant sound. Bass centric, so I`ve lowered the 63Hz band a tiny bit and elevated the 250Hz. I hear a bit less rumble and more texture this way. As usual, I've elevated the 4K and 8K bands, as my hearing is a bit diminished in the high region. They do sound a tiny bit digital though - all this with ANC on.
Minimal difference between ANC on/off in terms of sound. The soundstage is larger without ANC, but overall very good. I don't need to change EQ every time I turn on ANC. 🥳

The app has some nice features, in that it lets you select the codec. I have them set to aptX lossless, which my Samsung phone I don't think is capable of. The phone says aptX 16bit/44.1 KHz. That's CD quality if I'm not mistaken. There's a 24bit/96Khz option available, but since I listen on the go, didn't bother with it. Anyway, I usually don't worry too much about this, I find it a bit gimmicky. It's the sound that matters more to me.

The connection was stable throughout the day. Battery life great, but they're brand new, so I'm not surprised.

In-call quality for me was great, for my wife, at the other end, not really, but we always have this problem, as she's usually in the car on hands-free. This is actually the first set in a long time that got me excited. And the best thing, they were 50Eur cheaper than the Technics AZ80. And they look better ;)

Decided to compare the Moondrop Nekocake and AIrpods Pro 2 tonight for 3 songs, and I'm a bit suprised...Nekocake are 50-60USD in most stores, I got mine for £36 on Amazon for a bit of fun.

I used ethereal electronic with vocals (Air, Pastel Ghost).

APP2 are a more in your head, but cohesive sound. Nekocake stage more sounds outside the head and feel more like an out of head stage. I could see people preferring either for spaciousness depending on what they prefer. I think I prefer nekocake's wider more stereo like sound than the in my head style the APP2 give.

APP2 have a softer more rounded timbre, Nekocake give things like synths more definition and edge, which makes them sound more exciting, while APP2 sound more relaxing.

APP2's cohesive stage creates a slightly more detailed presentation, but there's little in.

APP2 vocal timbre is a bit better.

Nekocake makes different tracks in a song feel more distinct, which can make it feel more engaging, while APP2 merges everything in a single blob like sound.

These tws trade blows imo which is super unexpected. APP2 have the slight detail edge and timbre edge, Nekocake have imo the edge in presentation and instrument definition. Overall I felt more engaged by the Nekocake.

To me this is just crazy. It's my first Moondrop purchase and it was more for a collection thing, I really didn't think these could stand up to something like APP2 in sound...If you do buy them, vital to change EQ from Moondrop to Balanced in app, adds about 40% volume headroom (much needed).

Testament to Moondrop's audio chops, and imo Apple's laziness in doing the bear minimum and leaning on their brand image. Both tested using AAC codec from a Samsung phone (could be APP2 are curtailed by that, not sure how much better they'd sound on iPhone). Either way, im selling APP2 and exploring other tws after this.

I donr get that. I eq all my sets, but these sound as good or better than az80 at half the cost.
