I already know the latter part but there is no earbuds now AFAIK do 24/96 Lossless and 24/48 is rare so I would not go by a Dongle esp eppfun brand,
I did a test a while back with the Asus ROG 8 and eppfun dongle on the Vivo TWS 4 Hi-fi which has the S3 Gen 3 SOC. They both sounded the same in clarity off Aptx Lossless albeit the audio sounded better on the Asus as it has Dirac Player built in. I noticed the sound had greater depth coming from the Eppfun dongle compared to listening from the Asus Phone directly

I currently only have 1 set of lossless earbuds (think I have had 3 but never had the newer phone back then) and there is no way to tell they are actuality in Lossless mode, unlike the MTW4 where the App will state something weird like 16/48.

Moto Edge 50 Ultra on Android 14 (15 is months away), also cannot seem to get this so called Bitperfect over USB they claim was added in Android 14 to work.
Use USB Audio Player Pro to get Bit perfect bitrate

That works for me on old and new phone even without loading their own driver and over BT but I prefer PowerAmp and that Beta feature in Bluetooth Codec Chooser is a bit buggy.
Plus Qualcomm has stated that to get Aptx Lossless Hi-Res, a device needs to support LE Audio and Classic Bluetooth in Dual mode which both dongles advertise on their webpages

Wait
IMO it is all a waste of time with BT, best to wait on XPAN.
I can't wait for XPAN too but that doesn't mean Bluetooth is a waste of time. XPAN has one major downfall. Qualcomm has stated that routers will be to be XPAN compliant. Meaning most likely consumers will need to buy a new capable router. Another one is your limited to XPAN in home only. Moment you go outside, it will not function. So advancements to BT aren't a waste

Surely they can make it run over WIDI (WIFI Direct) then it does not matter if you are in the middle of a field or up a mountain.

Right now lossless is very hard to even get working never mind prove without that one Dongle you bought and even then without a screen on the receiving end it could be arriving at less than sent.

I chased aptX HD on PC, we got it via Avantree initially but it is not that a big a deal, then it was LDAC via FiiO initially same, then aptX Adaptive via Chi Dongles initially, same and now chasing a Unicorn called Lossless that may or may not work and they do not want to make it easy for the end user to see so on the screens.

After one day using the Aviot TE-W1 PNK, some early little feedback :
-> they are as bulky as TE-ZX1 PNK but nozzle is globally thinner and can go a bit deeper in my ear canal
-> battery playing time is in the worse case not really better than TE-ZX1 PNK, 1000XM5, AZ80 when they are used in LDAC mode with ANC activated => a disappointing more or less 5 hours .. I will try this week end, but I expect 12 hours or more in AAC mode for planes (ANC activated)
-> New adaptive ANC seems more efficient than other more traditional ANC I own
-> sound tuning is clearly for a typical easy listening like pop/electro/Trip-Hop/R&B/Metal/Films/TV shows/Games with a significant bass boost without bleeding too much on mids and still nice details in high frequencies (TE-ZX1 is still ahead for pure music SQ like Jazz/Neo-Classical/Prog/Blues/..)
-> no English at all available.

So sound quality is somewhere inspired by TE-ZX1 Red, they are light in the ears, with good ANC (if not best in class), price rather affordable, battery playing time not really at the level I expected => can be worth to give a try.

New Aviot...

19 max hours battery should give much better results with LDAC. https://aviot.jp/product/te-v1r/ V of course means a notch below the top as they have a simple to follow alphabet quality scale so my budget $35 Aviot is a "D" so V, W, and Z are of course the highest ones. :)
