Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Err, that's a wired device. We already get Hi-Res on Apple that way...
I know, but as former Apple User .. I could never get till now an IEM with a single cable with 96Khz 24 Bits available connected to my iPhone Xs Max .. The best I could do was to use my iPhone with Mconnect (Qobuz and my Upnpserver) and drive some of my DAPs (M11/R6Pro/ M17) with android Bubleupnp connected to my favourite IEM by wire too => which is far to be convenient with all this stuff in pockets..

After so many years .. Apple users will finally find that High Res is not so useless compared to the monsterous compression to 250Kbs AAC airpods transmission ?
IDK, as many have stated here, me included, Apples implementation of AAC is excellent. There will be some sound differences, but I don’t expect to be blown away…

How many are audiophiles giving half damn about SQ, consumer market is a different thing. Plus with phone manufacturers chopping off headphone output, what option phone users have.

These work really well on the MTW3 if you want extra isolation vs the stock tips. These don’t necessarily need to be rolled up first like comply so they go in quicker and easier. Since they are short and have a big bore they don’t seem to change the sound any vs a silicone tip.

Reminds me very much of the ones I use: https://www.global.lypertek.com/product-page/flexfit-foam-tips-set

Edit: Cheap, but too bad you have to buy a pack with S/M/L size. I use L, and have no use for S/M.

a question for the experts in this thread, 'cause i'm not reading 4000 pages to catch up :)

is there a decent TWS IEM "adapter" with an actually usable, good microphone? i'm not asking for something that will make the listening party able to pick up on the nuances of my farts in the background while i perform my best impression of Freddie Mercury, but something that's good enough to use for business calls on teams/zoom

i recently purchased a TRS BT20XS and while the sound quality is good enough that it doesn't make me cry when i'm too lazy to switch to my DAP+cabled iems, the microphone is literally unusable

I like the Shure TW2 with my IE200 setup. They are great at calls (on my phone) and my coworkers have said they sound great. Not done a ton of testing, but they blow away the Fiio adapter in this regard.

Completely agree. The Shure TW2 is a keeper. Where I bought it the guy said the Fiio are good for sound but aren’t baked and have some unsolved gremlins so I chose the Shure and never looked back.

And? What does it have to do with audio quality? 🤔

My post was about how lame AAC is. It's lossy and pretty much the same as SBC. Only serviceable I guess.
Everything, Apple spent a tremendous amount up front and continues to improve its AAC chain. It’s tightly coupled as a whole, you know, sum of its parts. I wouldn’t just discount it off hand….
Here’s an example, one thing I really like about my Max, is the independent volume knob. It’s the only over ear BT I have that I can precisely set my preferences for volume. 👍

It's cute they have $600 headphones not being able to play lossless music.

They were never about the quality when it comes to audio, they only see profit and locking down their users in general. And it's one of the things I dislike about them.

Anyway, back to TWS, sorry for the OT guys.
