Yeah, we can at least assume that will either be signifiincally more cheaper or expensive than the AZ60 MKII/AZ80s, given the history of the AZ40 series your theory is probably the most likely.
If any of you who are flying this week can post your ANC reviews of the 3ANC and/or the AZ80, would love to know your findings. Trying to decide on the best ANC cans but maybe I don’t have to!

A quick update.. as I type I am on a flight. To my ears, the AZ80 bests the 3ANC, by a hair, in ANC. With music playing both do a great job job. I will say with both of these TWS I am having a great flight of watching series and listening to tunes.
One thing I can share is that I found the AZ60 at level setting 34 for the ANC to perform better than AZ80. Have been playing around with settings to see if I am missing something. Something is not right. Also tried the MTW3 and they are on par with AZ60 butt also better than AZ80, no I am wondering if I have a faulty unit
Seemingly nearly the same minus the armatures and a different colorway. LDAC firmware is coming according to FiiO. Early impression is...
"The FW5 has the better defined treble notes with better treble extension. But at the same time its tuning is not exactly neutral reference either. The FW3 simplifies things as far as design and tuning goes. The FW5 has better micro detailing but overall actually being satisfied for its sound performance, FW3 performs just as good and for being $50 cheaper that brings the value statement squarely on the FW3. It might not be as detailed as the FW5 but easily makes up for it with a musical full bodied sound presentation that imo sounds just as good vs the FW5 and some might outright prefer it over the FW5."

At $70 the FW3 is very interesting! They work out a bit under$100 Canadian versus $180 for the FW5. The FW5 are priced high enough I was not willing to take a chance. This intro price on the FW3, might be worth taking a flyer on it especially if they sound almost as good, which appears to be the case. Maybe even better if not a fan of hybrid driver setups.
Got the FW3 for $88CAD so took a chance and ordered them.
Still waiting the AZ80 to get in stock at Bay Bloor, they got hit with delays like everyone else dealing with Technics. Have to admit I am waffling with cold feet on them, even at $100CAD off the MSRP.
If I stay the course and don't like them, hopefully I can flip them without to much of a loss.
