I've had the WF-1000XM4 for 2 years, maybe little longer. The battery has begun draining really quickly the past month or so, I'm getting about 2-3 hours now.
It's sad but that's the state of things, anything with a battery is not going to last forever, but I wish companies would start to be more conscious of things like this, perhaps have more electronic goods with easy to replace batteries so we can pass them down and enjoy them more.

Also, really been enjoying the case transmission with the Pi8 recently on trips abroad, such a great feature and sound is*chef's kiss*. Only thing I'm interested in trying is the successor to the Sony WH and WF line, which by the sound of things or the silence I should say will be a while.

Anyone in this thread pick up the Audeze i20 Planar IEM's on discount at the Audeze B-Stock sale yesterday? Regularly $699 down to $199. It was the only IEM
available. I bought one last year and the sound is unique with a large sound field. Anyway they are sold out now...

1. It is not the company's experience that matters, it is the people's experience that counts. If a new company hires the right people and do cares about what they are doing, then chances are they can roll out some really impressive products.

2. B&W are experienced with speakers. How many companies doing speakers for decades make a real attempt to step into the TWS market? Very, very few, cos they lack the "experience" in dealing with bluetooth chips and the meagre output from the all-in-one chips. Not just TWS, but also wired iems, with miniature speakers that most speaker companies lack the capability (and desire) of producing themselves.

3. By your analogy all of CFA/64/Noble/VE/EE etc etc are jokes and should sound like crap as they have way shorter history and way less "experience" than B&W.

4. Even when talking about "experienced" headphone brands - haven't you noticed the biggest players like 20 years ago e.g. Senn, ATH, AKG, or even Beyer, are now either shifting their business focus or falling down the pecking order behind newer brands? Shifting from traditional tech to the wireless/full electronic age is not an easy task. There are lots of catch up for the old players to do against those newer brands with a clear focus on new driver techs or new electronics.

5. I think people are not "believing" nothing ears are better than B&W. They are "hearing" that they are better. If you hear that B&W are better, that's perfectly fine. But if you only "believe" B&W are better, then you better hear them all before entering the discussion. Places like head-fi are exactly places where paid commentary or brand recognition plays a lesser role, where folks can simply discuss their experience without burden. A $100 piece of gear from an unknown brand can sound better better than a $2000 piece of gear from a 100-years big brand.

We have to be realistic - price and brand name does not define SQ and other qualities ESPECIALLY in the field of TWS where virtually every brand out there rely on the same few available bluetooth-plus-everything-else all-integrated chips, the same few OEM factories in China, just that same tiny bit of room to place and tune the accoustic elements (which are mostly if not all sourced from 3rd party), and all relies on the available DSP on the 3rd party integrated chip to do final tuning (where the 100-years of experience plays little part since it is all tech that only became available in the past few years).

Not to mention, the little guys can still zig while the big names can only zag.

We all start from point "A," only time will tell us what the result is.

I often reflect...

When Prince first sang "Purple Rain" did he know he just released a song that would be cross generational? To have that honor... To die a legend... That's truly living

Any news on Nuarl Inovator? That was supposed to come out in Q3, wasn't it? Cannot find much info online
Not quite finished with the final tuning and last touches. They say December release most likely.
