Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Given my experience with the first Gemini, I'm more intrigued with Nothing Ears. I'm guessing S24 doesn't have LDHC codec.

I take it that it doesn't have that codec. I use phones mainly for phone stuff, so I go for nice screens and all that. I do prefer a headphones jack on a good phone of course, but that's not going to happen. I'm fine with just LDAC then.

Interesting! Never heard of this one before. Samsung apparently doesn't have it, just checked the specs. LDAC is pretty great though, minus the lag and battery drain

They aren't in thr same ballpark. Gemini 2 sound really good. Nothing ear sounds really good for $120. Totally different.

RE: Amiron 300

I sent a note to beyerdynamic asking them to:

(1) Remove the automatic volume leveling once any EQ is applied in the app, or at least make it a user-option in the app,
(2) change the behavior of the app that defaults to no ANC (and transparency mode) if the earpieces are taken out of your ears and the app knows it (right now, the ANC is re-activated once the earpieces are put back on, but the app won't let you change anything to do with ANC or transparency until they're put back in), and
(3) provide a user option to check for firmware/software updates (instead of having the app check behind the scenes).

By the way, the automatic volume leveling does NOT happen if EQ is applied from the source, and not in the beyerdynamic app.

If you have the Amiron 300, send beyerdynamic your suggestions, too.

There isn't necessarily a direct correlation, but the gemini 2 is superior to the nothing ear for sound quality. $500 is a hard sell though. They should be $350 or so.

The nothing ear is a good value and if you're budget caps around $120, it is a solid set, but it doesn't compete in SQ with the gemini 2 (gemini 1 was meh, imo), just like the blon 03 doesn't compete with the monarch ii.

I agree with that, for sure, but there are always various price and quality brackets, right? I rec the nothing ear for the price, but objectively I would not rec it over the gemini 2 for pure sq or the zx1

I own the Nothing Ear (2024) and I find them better sounding than ZX1 (the red ones) with right PEQ. YMMV

To be perfectly honest, I've been AB comparing ZX1 with KZ SA08 Pro and, seriously, KZs sounded better (with tiny amount of EQ, not a fan of KZ/harman tuning)
