I haven't had these issues using BT with several BT TWS sets and headphones or DAC/amps. I admit I don't go into open fields very often. I live in a downtown city (about 600K population) where there can be significant foot traffic and a lot of BT devices being used. I also live in a twenty story apartment building. I've used BT TWS in gyms.

Sounds to me you more have an issue with your phone. My initial thought would be radio interference, which may be part of the issue you have. I also think that maybe your phone case may be blocking the BT signal. You may want to see if there is a difference without the phone case on.

There only issue I have come across is BT disconnects from my phone when I go up the elevator in my apartment building. This occurs on every signal BT headphone/earbud I use. And it's only with phone calls. It will do it if I walk by the elevator taking the trash to the trash shoot/room. Some devices do better with this than others. I'm always using TWS outside, at work, and travelling. My previous TWS were always using LDAC or Aptx. The current set using SSC (they're galaxy buds pro 2 with an S23 Ultra).

The GB3P update was way less painful than the Sony WF-1000XM5. Not sure I am hearing any difference in sound. Anyone else notice a difference?

After 25 years of DJing in noisy clubs and raves I don't have the most amazing ears but I'm really not noticing any diff.

Be interesting to see what Aaron Loud and Wireless (I think that's his name ) tests the new firmware

Still waiting to get my damn Samsung S23 Ultra One UI 6.1.1 update here in Canada. Samsung Canada totally sucks... no good deals like other countries and we are always last for updates...

Now that I am over my RANT I will see if the GB3P update is available ... 😉

Or not... left bud is not charging??? I forgot it out of the case and it was at 0% after almost two hours charging it's at 5%... anyone have a thought on how I can get it to charge? Currently have it in the case alone to see if that helps. The othe R Bud is at 100%.
Not arrived here yet on my wife's s24u in uk --- whenever i wanted to get the update quicker i'd VPN to a country that's had it rolled out (for me in UK i mostly picked france) and the update would pop up

Picked up the SGB3 (non-Pro) at Amazon UK today - £109.

Gonna compare them to the Airpod 4 ANC and a few of the budget options like Soundpeats Air5 and QCY HT10 for my 100th YouTube review. So far, the Airpod 4 ANC destroy all of them for both ANC and calls (on iOS only - on Android they aren't great to say the least)

Not only that BT is worse outside, but it's worse in open spaces.
I never thought of that. I used wired outside until recently. After Hiby R2 failed, I thought I might try M0 Pro, which, as you say, could be even worse.
It's crazy because BT is more convenient to use outside than at home.
Or if you go to the gym, where else?

Cheers!

Still 5 more hours of Prime Big Deal Days and I feel I am missing something ... i keep looking .. scrolling ... comparing some stuff ... eventually treated myself to the anker Sleepbuds 20A ... should arrive Saturday (why so long? I need instant gratification)
Anything I should really look into? especially good for running? Phone calls not important ...

Anyone seen the Moondrop Block? I was tempted at a mere 17€ .. but i could find no review that would convince me to get them other than for the 'now, that's something different' factor)

Edit: caved and got the Anker Space 40 refurb for 39€ :)

I’m not so sure about BT being lousy outside. I go on my walks, and I’ve NOT experienced any significant drops using my iPhone. I also use a dongle to get aptX adaptive, and never had problems.

My phone works perfectly outside. Heck, even connecting the TWS to my watch worked perfectly outside. It took my a while to understand that the small Shanling player just couldn't cope with open spaces. But I think it shows how BT is more susceptible to interruptions in open spaces. The gym is perfectly fine, many walls around ;)

Samsung's GB3Pro are immune to this problems so far. No issues in the crowd places or out in the fields. But my new favourite is the Sennheiser MTW4. No change in sound when activating ANC. I quite like them.

I know I'm late to the party, but I finally picked up a pair of the ZX1. Echoing what most others have said, I'm rather astounded by how good they are. Just excellent in the things that matter to me: sound quality, ANC, ambient, and surprising comfort. So far, connection has been solid with LDAC at the highest connection setting with a Samsung Flip 6. Just a major step up from anything I've used previously. Using the large foam tips, haven't tried any of the silicone tips yet. Also haven't messed with EQ yet; using the Bright setting at the moment and enjoying the sound so much that I haven't wanted to mess with anything yet.

A couple of questions for folks using the ZX1:
1. I notice that whenever I put the buds back in the case, then take them out to use them again, LDAC resets to the Adaptive setting. Have people found a way to get it to stay on a particular setting?
2. I find the default EQ to be a bit bassy for my taste and ears. I'd probably enjoy the PNK tuning, but I got a good deal on these and am not going to buy the PNK version. Has anyone managed to find an EQ setting that approximates the tuning of the PNK, essentially a more audiophile sound?
3. Any other tips to get the most out of these?

Thanks in advance.

I tried several, including multiple azla sedan tips in different sizes and types. I prefer those to spinfits, personally.
I like the Azla tips more myself. I couldn’t think of the name…😂

When I had the TE-ZX1-PNK version (which I too liked, especially the size of the soundstage), I found I got really good passive isolation with Dunu S&S tips, so I had quite a good experience in relation to ANC + isolation (but I guess low frequency cancellation was maybe a level below most competitors).

Also, I find that those tips reduce bass and maybe emphasise high (airy type) treble a bit, so they could help push the sound signature the way you want

(They didn't actually help me in this respect, as I had to EQ a bit of extra bass compared to other tips I tried like spinfit w1.)

They are pretty cheap too, maybe $8ish on Ali Express for a pack of S,M,L (only 3 sizes they do) - a bit more from Amazon. If you were thinking of trying these, I'd say the multi size pack would be the better option as I find M sometimes works, and other times L.
