Folks,

after more than 1 1/2 years I'm still very happy with my Technics EAH-AZ60. The only thing that's starting to bother me is their comfort, being stuck rather deep inside my ear canal. Now I know that this is part of the concept - a bit of noise isolation combined with active noise cancelling - but the longer I use them, the more I realize that I'm in desperate need of smaller eartips.

So this is where I need your help. What are the smallest, the absolute smallest eartips you know for the nozzle size of an AZ60, the Sony WF-1000XM4 or the Beats Studio Buds (they're all the same size, basically)? It's not so much about sound quality but more about being really, well, tiny.

Any and all recommendations are welcome. Thanks!
I like Azla Max, they are shallow and the only tips I have no discomfort issue with tips going too deep and expanding ear canal, their silicon also does not rub or irritate dry ears.

Well, after getting the DPP twice, and returning both times for technical defects, I went with the MTW3 this go round. Really is a shame about the DPP. The sound is “exciting” to say the least, but the QC of them seems to be hit or miss. I tried to live with the glitches, but in the end, I want with a more established brand. Wish me luck!
What issues did you experience?
My first set from Amazon were ok but i returned them. Decided i did enjoy them so bought a set from Denon direct but they have a weird situation where left bud feels like the ANC is always half-off and ambient half-on so you hear an unbalance all the time.... reset a few times etc but didn't seem to help

I've been listening to the Svanar TWS, and I got to say, it's pretty impressive.

I think it hits the milestone of a TWS having SQ on the level of wired iems. Of all the TWS I've heard in the past, I've never found them to be on the level of a wired iems (until I listened to the Svanar). I think this iem is a game changer. I'm wondering what it could be that's raising the SQ to such level. Is it the type of driver Hifiman creates? Is it a combination of his R2R electronics, the amp, and his driver? I'm very curious about this.

Svanar is surprisingly engaging in how sound is presented. I think it has similar sound characteristics as the Focal Clear. The best TWS I've ever heard!

I agree with you on this - I just find the fit to be a little loose

First set had audio drops and static bursts, and the buds wouldn’t charge evenly, always 10% or more off. The second set was better, but you had to jostle the left bud after seating it in the case every time, or it wouldn’t charge. The second set wasn’t a horrible problem, but for $450CAD, unacceptable.

And the eartips that come with Hifiman iems. They are atrocious. Why can't they do it like Moondrop? Design nice quality tips to include to their package? Hifiman is great at electronics and drivers that sounds great, but not industrial design. I hope they can engineer much greater battery life in the future. I hope to get close to 10 on Hifi mode, not sure if that's feasible with today's tech. I think Sony XM5 is getting 8hrs with ANC on these days.

As for tips, I'm using JVC spiral dots. The stock tips makes the sound too thin. It doesn't fill my ear fully for a fuller/deeper bass response. Bass response is awsome with the right tips. Bass actually rumbles.

Sony new Inzone buds, would require dongle for most phones as need BT 5.3 (LE)
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/s...-to-replace-your-gaming-headset/1100-6518375/

I just got them over weekend. Sharing mini review for those interested in it for gaming.

Connection: usb3 wireless dongle works well with no perceptible lag. For BT it’s LE only so it can’t connect to iPhone.

Sound: Tuned brightly out of the box which I assume is to suit games. I swapped to music eq and tweaked the upper end down more. Now it sounds like a slightly brighter XM5 with lighter bass. Overall sound is 7/10 for me. Note do not use spatial audio for normal music and video, it will be muffled. Spatial audio works well in games however probably better than my past Sennheiser gsx1000 dac.

Comfort: very comfy and light. Some light pressure on my right ear but that will vary from person to person.

Mics: decent built in mic no complaints from other players.

Software: Decent easy to use software which importantly has mic sidetone as well.

Overall: 7.5/10. I can see in ears being the way to go for gaming headsets moving forward and this Sony attempt is their best ever over their gaming headphones and most of the other mainstream models. Would score higher if it worked with iPhone over BT.

Cheers for the early impressions.

Can you tell whether the EQ settings are saved to the earphones themselves or dongle?

I'd been eyeing these for using on PS5 but the previous Inzone branded over-ears range were geared more for PC usage as EQ, spatial audio, even just battery level visibility, were only available in the PC software suite.

The upcoming Playstation Pulse planar TWS will be specifically for PS5 but still no release date for those so thinking of picking up the Inzone buds in the meantime...

I think it will be interesting to get opinions... which TWS earbud has the best sound quality along with the best ANC? Just those two criteria, not complete package.

Another day, another ****ing crappy Hifiman Svanar TWS experience. The earbuds REFUSE to connect to my Pixel Fold. I've reset the earbuds, restarted my phone, tried it over and over again and it just won't connect. Infuriating.

Sounds like you're about as done with them as i am with DPP's.

So had a set on release and kinda liked them but was on the fence overall. Ended up returning them.
Having tried the Bose QCU's and being underwhelmed by them. I decided i liked that thumping bass that the DPP's had
Bought another set direct from Denon last week --- left ear bud is "off" massively and has a sound like ANC is half-off (could hear ambient mode like noise through it all the time). Did a bunch of resets etc. So sent them back. Thought to hell with it and bought yet another set from Amazon (they're gonna love me).... this one has similar but different issue to the others in that you get a crackle / buzz noise from the RIGHT but this time again part of the ambient/ANC mic's as it gets really prominent if it's a quietish room and i speak my own voice comes through but super crackly / distorted. So they're going back to Amazon.

So DPP's are officially DONE with me.
2 sets with issues on a £300 earbuds is unacceptable.

Sending a defective unit back to Amazon and buying a replacement, is probably a good thing at Amazon. The AI bots see you’re genuinely interested in the product and not just taking advantage of their return policy . 👍
