I thought they are rated at up to 6 hours LDAC. Not sure how at least 8 is gonna happen.

So that's probably too short for my use... with a iFi Goblu dongle and a Sony XBA-N3AP I get more or less 12 hours playing time in LDAC mode.. and such sound quality is my target for any TWS..
Till now, I couldn't find any to reach such quality, all TWS are a real step behind for sound quality, but more comfortable to be used, as cables are my nightmare outdoor.

Without EQ, Samsung, for me, has a better sound quality, but there is still room for improvement with PEQ applied (based on Crinacle AutoEQ to Harman target for samsung Buds2 Pro) ..
The Soundcore Liberty 4 seems to be basicaly tuned for AAC codec and seems to produce too much sibilance with LDAC Codec. So, I would say sound quality without EQ is a real step behind Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
When I apply Rtings AutoEQ PEQ to Liberty 4, the sound quality seems to be significantly improved and is maybe near if not better than Samsung Buds2 Pro (with some Crinacle AutoEQ applied to samsung) => but this need some deeper analysis these next 2 days before I can confirm the sound quality of Liberty 4 can be as good as Samsung after PEQ.
The PEQ parameters I apply can all be found there => https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq/blob/master/results/INDEX.md
As I use PowerampEQ android's APP, the parameters profiles can be automatically applied when I switch between my TWS for nearly instant A/B comparison.

Can you please post an image of your Liberty 4 EQ?

I have spend some more times this evening with the Liberty 4 and such EQ .. and now, after some heavy A/B comparison, I am more convinced, it does even better than my Samsung Galaxy Buds2 pro => it is much nearer to my target which is iFi GoBlu + XBA-N3AP.

NB : I don't use Anker's APP for EQ, I only use poweramp EQ android's App, which can handle EQ easily for Qobuz, Amazon HD too.

Somebody correct me, think I was watching a Sound Engine 4 review and they said that was 9 hours LDAC. No features on that one though.

I sent mine back already but the idea that the volume was way too low happened for me too, until I realized turning my phone full didn't mean the buds were also full. To get full volume, turn your phone full AND beep beep the volume button on the buds too. There are two separate volumes, one on the phone and one on the buds. It took me a bit to realize that. I'm on Android so it might be different for you, that's just my observations.

Can you change bud volume on the technics app? Considering ordering the az80.. I would probably turn off the touch controls because I am not a fan of touch controls
I don't know, I sent it back already. I can't start that part of the app backup with the buds, sorry.
On the iPhone the button tap on the az80 is tied to the system volume and the app doesn’t seem to have the ability to adjust max volume levels unfortunately. It’s just a low overall volume level.

I am lost. How does that translate into actual EQ settings? Do you mind posting pictures of your EQ app with the sliders?

As I said I don't use Soundcore EQ app .. you need an app that can support Parametric EQ .. like PowerampEQ, Usb Player Pro, Neutron Player, ...
This is a sample of a screenshot of my smartphone Galaxy Z Fold 2, that I use with this TWS.

Maybe with Anker's Soundcore app, you can try to use fixed band EQ .. with these values
Q=1.41 is a standard value for almost all fixed EQ software, so ne need to enter this value.

I just noticed that B&H photo has the AZ80 in silver for $230 but the black for $300.
Pre-order.
Must be a mistake in pricing?
Thanks for the tip. Just ordered them. Couldn't resist at this price.

Thanks for flagging this! Not sure I need these, but what the hey, the price makes it worth taking a risk on the AZ80!
