Hello,

At the moment I've a shure SE215 in-ear partnered with a Fiio E17 USB/DAC/Amp. Would upgrading to a portable Philips M1 be better partners for more listening pleasure?

Or is the E17 together with the AKG K450/451 a better match with regard to component price-quality match.

Also looked at the AKG-K550 full headphone but is more expensive and maybe not easily driven by the E17. Maybe some higher quality dac/amp is needed for such pair of earphones.

Regards and hope to hear from you all
Marco

It would probably help your thread if you stated "why" your asking. Are you not happy with how the 215's sound? From what i've read, the 215's sound pretty good and are good value for the price!

Hi, thxs for the advice murph.
The 215 are pretty ok and work well when traveling at work etc. but I think the E17 has more potential which I miss when hearing the 215 I think I miss warmth, bit of bass. Also with regards to soundstage I think I'm missing out.

So looking for some cans which make me enjoy music more and goes well with the e17. I presume akg k-550 outshines the e17 so some cans in the neighborhood 150-200usd around 150euro I guess. The Philips m1 was highly regarded by whathifi so was my first thought in the price range.
I have no option to test some of the cans so any help is appreciated.
Thxs in advance
