I believe its a single 8mm DD for lows and mids. I imagine things will sound tighter but I have a feeling they will lean heavily into a midbass tuning which might upset some.

Personally, I'm looking forward to just seeing what this next outing brings. I don't think it will be the revolution we want but that doesn't mean it won't be worth the price of entry or not be enjoyable (provided QC is all good).

Agreed, as a GK10 fan, it's insta-buy for me. Just waiting on the link!

Geek Wold GK80
1BA +2 Piezoelectric ceramics +1 Dynamic
Driver audiophile In-ear Earphone IEM
Driver Configuration: 1 Balanced Armature (mid-high frequency) + 2 piezoelectric ceramics (ultra high frequency) + 8mm titanium diaphragm dynamic driver (low frequency)
Frequency response:20Hz-35 kHz
Impedance:28 ohm
Sensitivity:106dB
Cable length:1.2M
Source: Penon Audio FB

Interesting, if I recall correctly the mid frequency in the GK10 was partly (or wholly) dealt with by DD. Here's hoping for a decent BA timbre on this one.

Doesn't seem to be up on Penon...yet!

So last night I took a quick listen to the GK80. I gotta hand it to the Geek folks. These sound fantastic. The bass end is quite punchy and detailed. The mids however is a clear upgrade with more body and much better coherency from the GK10.

I have been listening to the new Tansio Mirai Akiba earphones with Sonion ESTs for upper trebles. The GK80 using 2x Piezo ceramic drivers for the upper trebles mimics the EST drivers and I think this is the reason why these Geek earphone separate themselves from other budget fi stuff. It sounds much higher end than the price would indicate.

These also remind me of the tuning that is on the Geekfly GF8S

In fact if you guys wanted an amplified GK80 TWS. That is what the GF8S is and using the same group of drivers too
Dynamic+BA+2x piezos

If the GK80 was designed with similar footprint than it will utilize a full range BA doing the mids and treble.

8ohms again. Guess it will a mixed bag of opinions when they come out due to impact of source.

Will see what I can do. I now have a much more burned in GK80 and really these are punching way above their price point. If you guys thought the GK10 had some potential. That is really what the GK80 is. It is what the GK10 should have been but saying that. No other sub $50 phone I have tried in the past comes close. The big difference for me is that coherency is much better. Smoother dare I say silkier extended type treble.--- Where you gonna find that in a sub $100 earphone let alone a sub $50 earphone.

Mids are very engaging. Full bodied and nuanced. You can tell the Titanium influence on the detail level. These sound simply superb folks. I you guys will be the first to get know about them. I haven't posted anything about these on the discovery thread or any other thread due to the haters.

But good things to the real fans. You guys heard the potential of the GK10 and liked or even loved them for what they are. The GK80 is most definitely fan service. It is a more musical full bodied, more refined sound, a level of SQ you won't hear in too many if at all in the price range. I am gonna do a full write up about these here very soon but lets just say these might be the new budget benchmark for me. In fact, I know it already. There is nothing that touches them at the price. Sure these are more colored vs the GK10 but in the best way possible. You guys are in for a nice little surprise. These will be released very soon.

They are mass producing them as we speak.

I'm sorry, of course, but everything you say is so cool that you want to buy them as many as 10 pieces with a margin :D . I hope that your words will be true, we are waiting. 👍

I got some more insight for you guys. There were several revisions of the GK10, but the Geek team decided on this particular design and now I can understand why. These manufacturers read the reviews and the negative stuff folks write. They have pride, no one puts out a substantial product and wants to see how bad the QC was ect. Going back and redesigning what was to become the GK80.

Sticking with a driver combo design they are familiar with, the choice to use the tone setting graphene dynamic for its bass and mids is substantial to how these perform.
Just got a new ISN G4 cable that was released on Penon on the GK80. The cable cost 2X more than the GK80 but you know what. These are talking to me right now.

do you already have the final product? do you have a double or single mesh?

The picture you see is the finalized version of the GK80. It will come in the same bare bones packaging as the GK10. Same set of tips too. The stock cable is bare bones and not the SPC that came with the revised GK10. This time they are letting you guys use whatever cable you have you feel will be an upgrade. And just about anything will be an upgrade. DSC09406.JPG
It does look like they are throwing in an extra set of silicones. Otherwise, it is the same package as the GK10

Single or double mesh? Not understanding. You talking about the front mesh filter on the nozzle? I have no idea it looks the same as the GK10.
