What's the best sound card and best amp for gaming?

Every single thread on this website has people reccomending different amps, from Astro Mixamp to Little Dot to Tube Amp to Fiio; for sound cards people talk about Dolby Headphones to CMSS.

I only play Counterstrike 1.6 and Left 4 Dead on the PC, and I listen to mostly electronic music (trance).

For the amp, but I am leaning toward the Fiio E7/E9 combo for the amp

For the soundcard, I don't have a clue. HT Omega? Asus? Creative?

Money is not a problem.

Hey Mate, you can post on the "Computer Audio" section, tons of info there.

Welcome to head-fi btw.

You might go with Creative for gaming soundcards. HT Omega is not the best for gaming but it's really solid for music and movies.

I've become a Xonar (DS and DX) guy because I personally found the Creative drivers a pain.
Asus software/drivers are so much easier to fix/reinstall then Creative.
With Windows 7, it levels the Creative and Asus cards.
