So, I have a Galaxy S9 with Snapdragon chip. It just does not drive my Oppo PM-3's to get nice and punchy. It's just a bit thin, even at hightest volume.

Would getting a DAP like the Onkyo DP-X1 give me this extra power? Can't really find the S9's output power anywhere.
Or would I just benefit more by getting a nice USB Dac like the ifi HIP DAC?

Have you ever heard your headphones sounding punchy? Some headphones just don't no matter how loud you make them.

I also use them at my desktop with a Fiio E17. They sound amazing on that. So that's what I can compare it with...

Maybe punchy is the wrong word?! It just feels and sounds a lot less nice...

Sadly, no...
