I can't believe how different the FLAC files sound pure to when they are encoded as MP3s even at 256Kbps. Bells on the symphony fantastique change incredibly in mp3 over flac.

Bob, that's great news that we'll be able to buy individual tracks, hopefully in 24bit/96kHz Flac files. It would also help greatly if the tracks could be previewed in low quality before buying..

The best I have run across unfortunately. But if you happen to pass by a good music store, I highly recommend the following:


1. Oscar Peterson's "We Get Requests" album

2. John McLaughlin, Paco DeLucia, and Al DiMeola's "Friday Night in San Fransisco" album

3. Alison Krauss and Union Station's "Live" album.


Excellent reference level recordings, but not quite on par with these flac beauties.
