The headphones or the rings?Am I the only one who finds these completely overpriced?
Not at allUsing the ring for the pads, will it allow more outside noise to enter?
Going to be selling my HD650's. I take them off immediately when trying to listen to them now days.Howdy folks. I'm thinking about buying a Mahogany TH-X00 to complement my HD6XX for all of the reasons discussed here (more bass, easier to drive, etc).
I was just curious how many long term owners still love them. Reading through the majority of this thread it seems like there are a lot of folks who start off incredibly enthusiastic and then end up selling them off after a few months. I know that is common for any new headphone with a lot of hype/buzz. Just wondering how much staying power these things actually have.

I mean the rings.
I had no problem paying $399, $449 and $499 for each version of the TH-X00 (I own all three) but for some reason I can't bring myself to pay $14.99 for these rings.
To me, 10 grams of plastic, whatever the shape, simply isn't worth this kind of money.
It's funny how these things work ^_^

With the Dekoni rings there is too much bass bloom and the clarity and detail of the mids/highs is reduced some.
What is your opinion on each variant? I own the Purple-heart and love them but I am thinking of either buying the ebony's or the EMU-Teak version later for a bit of a smoother sound and detailed midrange. Worth it?I mean the rings.
