I don't really understand what the importance of getting a low serial number is...people really care that much? Do they sound better or something?

Just for fun, I couldn't care less, but since I'm buying, might as well try to get the more "desirable" versions.
My # is 3873, so I won! :)

I am hoping this is a nice addition to my HE1000, there are times where I wished I have a closed headphones for loud listening session late at night.

Yeah I might have been spamming the refresh button... didn't necessarily need the low S/N but there were almost 3000 requests (did 3000 people really need an email notification or just new to MD??) and I wanted to ensure I got a pair... confirmation time shows 9:00 AM EST

I'm in, couldn't resist at that price. I love the wooden glossy ear cups as well. Can't wait to give them a listen.

Nice. The wooden glossy Mahogany is gorgeous and each earcup looks different (different shades of the natural brown color), which makes it even feel even custom and truly one of a kind.

I would say it's a natural, awesome addition and complement to the HE1000 as it does leak a lot less noise than the HE1000, but does leak some sound, nonetheless. There are times where I even...prefer listening to the TH-X00 when I want that extra bass slam with whatever I'm listening to.

I snagged no.200. Can't wait to hear them. This is my first what I would consider high end headphone.

Thanks for all the great info on this thread from everyone.

PM3 to me do not sound on my genres at all...
Also waiting for a pair of TH-X00! Just sold my signature pro and was aiming at TH600...hope X00 is a better choice

In on that as well... very nice looking and I always liked the D7000 pads better than the TH900 pads. The Urushi cups are still an outstanding work of art... but @project86 's review seemed to promise some slight changes in the sound signature that would be very welcome to me.

Would have been nice if the cable were not fixed. And I don't need the adapter... prefer those with a short cable to avoid stress on the 3,5mm sockets. But oh well... nothings perfect I guess.

What are your genres? I find PM-3 to sound great with just about anything. Maybe not classical due to small soundstage but I don't care much about that anyway.
