Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
Dec 13, 2015 at 10:33 AM Post #2,626 of 12,086
is anyone else who is shipping these abroad have their pair chilling in NJ? Mine have made literally no progress for a whole week. I wish MD would give us the the option to pay more for better shipping, their chosen forwarder is often atrocious for overseas customers. I would gladly throw down an extra 20/30$ if given a choice. Looking at this page is aggravating

Interesting, I had the exact opposite reaction, I thought the THX00 finish was much classier than the TH900.  I'd have honestly never realized the TH900 were wood without looking at a spec sheet. THX00 lets the mahogany be the star of the visual show instead of lacquer/paint.

I can see your perspective. Some people love the grain of the wood/veneer to come through, especially on furniture! :D I definitely love the Eames LCW chairs in the standard walnut finish and love to see the grain show through.

That said, the Urushi lacquer with the metallic flakes finish on it is... like looking at a metallic finish paint vs the standard flat color finish on a BMW. The pop and brilliance when shown in a certain light is... mesmerizing, to me. :)

Don't know how this happened, but after burn in the stock pads become better than all the aftermarket pads I had on. To mirror what everyone else said, make sure you play with the rotation of the pads to get your own special fit.

Hopefully a few of us in the uk will also get ours in the next few days. Paid my duty and got them released from customs on Friday morning. Just waiting for Yodel to collect and deliver.

My status was looking almost the same but then I got a status update a couple of hours ago that the headphones are in Germany now (heading for Norway). So the headphones might actually be in your country already.

Btw total cost to me £350 (headphones, shipping, cc currency fee, duty and customs handling fees).
