Probably, because no one would buy the new one if they already owned the older one.

I wonder if Fostex is just going to allow stock of the old model to sell out and then only have the newer model as the only one.

TH-610: major changes (wood cups, different ear pads, removable cable)

I believe there is no report saying the mk2 is sonically identical (or not) to the TH900 yet. Let's be patient here.

The 2 persons on this thread that have the mk2 didn't mention any changes sonically and ads only say that they now have removable cable. I would hope it gets reviewed buy a respected review source to confirm changes, if any.
