Just another request, anything on this new mk2 th900 driver upgrade yet. The hd800s thread has graphs up the yin yang, 3D and all. Or is it too new, or is it just a yawn? Has no one bought one and did a comparison?

Jury seems to still be out whether an actual driver upgrade is part of the mk2's DNA.

Hopefully we will see impressions soon, although it seems Japanese releases always seem to take ages to receive feedback on (specs, impressions....etc)

The Asian forums are usually a buzz with lots of info although my Cantonese is not quite up to snuff

Congrats on the 800S by the way, looks / sounds (by all accounts) like a stellar value and a great piece headphonedom.

Thanks but my sig has jumped the gun and "waiting is the hardest part" as you may know, since we share the same city, hd800s is being dropped shipped mid Jan, I hope, from Germany and will be dropped to me from the distributer direct in Quebec. I'll have to wait 8-12 weeks for my dhc cable that goes with. But as you and up late pointed out the benefits of hd800 I jumped on the S as I now use the TT as my desktop and a smoother yet accurate delivery 800 is what I think would compliment this bad a** th900 with now a monster bass, kick drum, slap bass slam to it. I mean sometimes the sub bass scares me, but I do like that tho....

Agreed ....waiting is the hardest part.

Great reports on the TT as well, definately a statement piece according to Chord afficianados.

Nice acquisition, especially in this neck of the woods.

Disregard most of what i've said about the headphones. This happens every time i get a new headphone, i obsess over it so much that i find problems that arent problems and the like. I remember back when i bought my hfi 580's i thought they sounded better when my phone had a battery under 25%. Takes bout a month to wear off. I can say i enjoy them much more than my signature djs, but for a while i'm gonna try and avoid making any other comments, lol.

Rofl, it happens, no worry at all :D. Regardless, th900 does have very accurate and impressive bass impacts, and many people would refer it as "end-game bass" .
