Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Th900 kind of remind me of my Tralucent Ref1. Two of my other favs asg g2, most ridiculous bass ever with an adjustable port, and a more budget friendly option, RHI t10. I sold my Shure Se846 because I love the RHI so much.

Are the RHI's really that good? I have SE535's which are otherwise excellent, but I find them too bass-shy.

I absolutely love them. By far the best bargain, but I'd have gladly paid more. They are one of my favorites. They are such a wonderful sound sig... But they are not for everyone. Lots of mixed reviews, seems you either love or hate them.

I am actually beginning to dislike my th900. I was laying down at home last night, after a very stressful day. Decided to pop my IEMS in, and relax... I didn't fully enjoy them, I wanted my Fostex!! I'm not even joking... Anyway, still stock. Using woo wa6 with my AK240. Have other tubes coming tomorrow hopefully.

I had to re-read that again to make sure I understood it right. :)

Which one of your IEMS did you have one. Curious about if it was the Shure as that's on my radar at the moment.

I can relate to the "want this headphone right now" feeling. The ears want what the ears want. :p

Shure 846 is a good iem that has that sub woofer floor but is more mid centric than the th900 IMO. So if you want to have those areas sharpened up then you would like Shure.

...and end up with 10 cans that you change every album. Been there done that. I'd sell and find a transducer more to my liking personally.

Really? I've been keeping my eyes on their price for half a year but have never seen it went that low.

Just checked, $1099 on Massdrop. They need a further 90 odd expressions of interest before they'll repeat the drop.

In relation to the second hand price - there is one for $850USD for sale in the for sale forums and another for about $1k.

There are now two TH900's below $900 on our for sale board used.  Never ever thought they would drop that far but such is the market................all the new cans coming out has locked up the used market big time.

Appreciate the info, I've been asking about the TH-900 since I found one for sale here in Hawaii so I'll be able to see how it look in person and sounds.
