Which Lawton cable did you go with? Is the tune-up worth it in your opinion?
Both are great , but the hornet cable is thicker and heavier.

Thanks :) So the sound signatures of the cables are pretty much the same?

Also, what do you think of their "tune-up" service? Worth it?
For me the tune up and upgrade wood cups made it less V shape. Cables sounded pretty close , I liked the hornet a little more.

I think I might do the tune-up and the new cable. I love these red wood cups too much, haha. In terms of the V-shape, did the mods retain the bass but take the edge off the treble without sacrificing clarity?

Well by bringing the mids a bit forwards the treble and bass seemed to be less. In your case you not changing the wood cups. The upgrade cups are made of harder wood.

Walked today 3 hours through the crowded streets and trains in Hong Kong. I used my TH900 and no outside noise issues , music sounded great like if I was inside my house.

removes some bass bloat tighter, touch more mids, wider sound stage. The cups basically can be beautiful, I got Hawaiian koa, they are dampened, larger, with thicker angled pads so the effects are as expected.
other than basic curiosity the reason I did it was I like electronic, (lots of genres) and found occasional excess sub bass. If your system doesn’t reveal this, then it’s up to being curious.

Yes , weird , the th900 doesnt isolates the best , but when I go out I add a little more bass to push out the noises around me thats trying to get in.

Can you post pic of your TH-900? This bloated bass is biggest upset for me in my TH-900.
