Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Damn.
I have just one, and feel like it's enough. Due to having practically no isolation, I can only use it when I'm alone - but then I often reach for my electrostats instead...
Do you really find use for these 4 TH900s, or is it more of a collection type of thing?
Im in a city of 8 million and Im using them on the go in trains, buses, taxis and walking. Isolation not the best but then I have the ifi Bl to play it a bit louder. All four has different cables and one is fully modded by Lawton. I had a few better isolated headphones but I sold them.

he is going in circles trying to proof his mystical theory although he conflicting with his previous post outside this thread.
Can you post a quote of me saying that burn-in affects frequency response?
If not, please stop making the same false statement over and over.

I'm considering purchasing the TH900s. Can someone relay their impression on the biggest bang for your buck dac/amp for it? I have the Dragonfly Red, can anyone weigh in on that guy paired with the TH900s?
A friend of mine has the Fostex HPA4 and it paired very well with my TH900 when I demo'd it. I would very much recommend it as a single box solution that doesn't break the bank.

I have the Dragonfly Red but it's way to bright of a pairing for the TH900's. I'd recommend the iFi Micro iDSD Black Label. It drives them superbly. All the detail, definitive and clarity you could ever want.

Oh boy, I don't want them to be that bright. That DAC/Amp is pretty pricey for me right now if I'm going to blow my load on the headphones... how about their
iFi Nano iDSD DAC and Headphone Amp Combo?

I can still return the Dragonfly Red at this point.

Yup would second this sentiment. Even a step down to the Dragonfly Black is preferable with the TH900s.

There is a iFi Nano iDSD BL that should work. The TH900's aren't difficult to drive at all. You just want to stay away from bright sources with them.

I may give the ifi Nano black label a go. Why not their silver version with the TH-900? Any other DAC/AMP under $300 recommended?
Silver is great but the BL has slightly better internals.
