Thanks, mmlogic :) I've seen a few posts on this thread that have liked the electrostat pads, i'm just hoping the bass isn't tamed that much. I'm not too keen on Dekoni's pads if the inner ear opening is smaller than stock (my ears are above average size :/). And i like the fact the electrostat pads are made out of Italian nappa leather :)

I would add the Woo Audio WA8 to recommended amps for TH900. Does of good job of taming the peaky highs but doesn't lose detail. Brings mids forward too. I'm using the built in DAC for the moment but will be adding a Schiit Mimby to the chain.

Have been listening to my TH900 MK2 with the Chord Hugo 2 and this headphone definitely touches perfection. However, I'm a IEM guy, I listen to music outdoors only and full size doesn't work for me (portability). So I'm selling mines, almost brand new, used twice or so, 3 years warranty, if anyone's interested.

In in HK which is packed with people. Walking on sidewalks people will bump you everyday and I had no issue using the TH900 with a Hugo2 or ifi Bl.

i love the th900 - driven by a Hugo 2, or trilogy 933 when i’m at home, but I need some comparable iems for at work, or something considerably more discreet than the th900.

I still use the Hugo, and have got Shure 846, etymotic er4 had a demo pair of lcd i4 (really disappointed about their need for eq - really at that price ), ultrasound signature DJ (good but not discreet - especially in white) - but nothing quite does it yet.

I’m not too worried about price if I find the perfect match - taste are varied - acoustic, dance and jazz and a bit of pop

Any ideas my fellow audio obsessed friends

I can't remember which well known contributor it was, but in a review of the Campfire Audio Vegas, he had mentioned they were "the TH900 of IEMs". You may want to check those out.

Shure 846 are great
Don't you like?

Shure 846 and their other IEMs share a common house sound which is lush mids. TH900 on a good day has neutral mids, but usually a little recessed. Bass-wise, 846 is up there with the unique sub bass radiator. Treble-wise, it's not as sharp and forward as TH900 even with the white filters.

Jvc woodies have similar sound to the th900 but can't be compared to the 846 imo

jvc woodies also looks more ridiculous than the th 900

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'm not willing to read through over 1000 pages. Anyway... How much does does the balance of th900 differ from ah-d5000?

Thing is that people always talk about bass and highs with Denon/fostex headphones. On d5000 I find the bloated bass quite annoying and supposedly harsh highs don't disturb me at all. I love d5000 for mids. Does th900 suffer from same bass bleed as d5000 does? I'mo d5000 pushes in bass when it is not called for. Jvc dx1000 does it alot better having omnipresent bass that is always there but never excessive.
